LeverageTek is actively seeking a Database Administrator for a 7-month contract with its Ottawa based client.

Work Location

Hybrid in Ottawa or Toronto

Security Clearance : None

Key Tasks

• Design and implement automation database role-based access control solution across all of the organizations different database type, focus on Redshift, MySQL, Oracle
• Install, manage, maintain, patch, upgrade, monitor and performance tuning on Oracle instances on AWS EC2 environments, Grid Infrastructure, ASM, supporting the full lifecycle of Database environments.
• Install, manage, maintain, patch, upgrade, monitor and performance tuning on AWS RDS, Aurora, and Redshift instances and Clusters, ensuring stability, security, and performance.
• Design, test, and implement backup and recovery procedures for all the organizations databases on all platforms. Provide input to maintain and support for the disaster recovery strategy.
• Define, maintain and implement robust security and access policies to ensure security of the organizations data holdings; participate in the planning, implementation, maintenance, and support of security controls.
• Continuously identify and resolve inefficiencies in current databases and make recommendations on improvements and automation opportunities.

Key Qualifications :

• Strong background and experience as a Database Administrator for Oracle 19c database or above, and MySQL 8 or above.
• Strong background and experience with AWS RDS, Aurora, Redshift.
• Strong background and knowledge working with RDBMS architecture, Database backup / recovery, Security / Auditing, and Integrity.

Qualifications :

• Experience with Database security role solution design and implement
• Solid knowledge working with RDBMS architecture, Database backup / recovery, Security / Auditing, and Integrity.
• Expertise in Oracle RDBMS management and maintenance on Linux platform with Specific experience in Oracle ASM and RMAN, AWS RDS Oracle / AWS Aurora / AWS Redshift.
• Experience on performance monitoring and database tuning, Oracle PLSQL / Code tuning.
• Hands on experience and strong knowledge of Unix Shell and Python script.

Assets :

• Experience with Oracle APEX is an asset
