Key Objectives:
Chubb's Global Analytics Team is seeking a proactive Data Scientist with exceptional analytical skills to join our vibrant and fast-paced environment, dedicated to driving innovative solutions.

As a Data Scientist, you will develop solutions to complex business problems which combine industry standard practices with innovation. The ideal candidate will conduct data analysis to uncover insights and trends. They will build and optimize machine learning models to enhance data-driven decision-making. Additionally, the role involves implementing, evaluating model performance, and making recommendations for improvements.


Major Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate in extracting and manipulating data using data management tools from internal and external data sources.
  • Execute exploratory data analysis, including data cleanup and preprocessing, to extract meaningful insights.
  • Propose and implement appropriate approaches for model development, evaluating various algorithms and techniques.
  • Support model deployment and monitoring to ensure smooth integration into existing systems.
  • Demonstrate intellectual curiosity and drive to continually learn and expand expertise in the field of data science.
  • Communicate and present findings to business partners, both technical and non-technical, to ensure successful integration of projects into business processes. Proactively follow up on any issues that were raised during presentations.
Qualifications

Must Have:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field.
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in data analytics and developing machine learning and deep learning-based solutions with significant expertise in writing code in Python.
  • Solid understanding of machine learning models, including but not limited to ensemble learning, deep learning, and foundational algorithms.
  • Proficient in ML and DL frameworks and libraries (e.g., PyTorch, Sci-kit Learn, etc) and their implementation.
  • Proficiency in conducting data analysis such as handling complex and incomplete datasets
  • Strong proficiency in SQL for data querying, manipulation, and analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to approach complex challenges with creativity, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Nice to have:

  • Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP)
  • Understanding of data engineering principles and ability to work with large-scale datasets, as well as knowledge of distributed computing platforms like Spark
