Job summary

RBC is seeking a talented Data Scientist to design, develop, and deploy machine learning models that drive strategic decisions across the organization. You will work with data engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to turn complex data into actionable insights.

You'll analyze large datasets, build scalable models, and present findings with clear visualizations. A strong foundation in Python, R, SQL, and ML frameworks is essential, along with excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in data science, Computer Science, Statistics, or Mathematics (or related field).
  • 3+ years in data science, machine learning, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Python, R, SQL and ML frameworks (Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Strong data visualization using Tableau or Power BI.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for business improvement.
  • Develop and implement machine learning models and algorithms to address specific business problems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., data engineers, product managers, business stakeholders) to translate requirements into actionable insights.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences through clear visualizations and reports.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with RBC’s data governance standards.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve analytical capabilities.

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

We are seeking a talentedData Scientistto join our team at RBC, where you will leverage data-driven insights to solve complex business challenges. In this role, you will design, develop, and deploy machine learning models and analytical solutions that drive innovation and strategic decision-making across the organization. You’ll be working to develop new and extend existing applications in the RBC Commercial and Small business portfolio.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

WHAT DO YOU NEE TO SUCCEED?
Musthave:
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in data science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years in data science, machine learning, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in programming languages (Python, R, SQL) and machine learning frameworks (e.g., Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, statistical knowledge, and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Nice-to-have:
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is an asset.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
