Job summary

BBA Consultants seeks a data platform engineer to design, develop and optimize modern data platforms that help clients turn data into value. You will work on Azure, Snowflake and cloud integrations, supporting AI-enabled data strategies.

You will collaborate with data, architecture and business teams, applying data governance and security practices across projects in Canada and internationally. This is a hybrid role with strong growth potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or a related field.
• At least five years of experience in database administration, data engineering or integration solution development.
• Expertise with Snowflake, Azure and cloud-based data integration solutions (Azure Data Factory, ETL/ELT, APIs and SaaS connectors).
• Proficiency in SQL, Python and PowerShell, with experience using Azure DevOps, automation tools and CI/CD practices.
• Strong understanding of data protection mechanisms, compliance, data quality and metadata management.
• Understanding of AI agents, the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and secure approaches for exposing data to AI models.
• Ability to work within product-focused, multidisciplinary teams.
• Advanced English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in English-speaking Canadian provinces and internationally; you may need to use English occasionally or daily, depending on current projects.
• Advanced French skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in Québec.
• Asset: experience with Databricks, Copilot Studio, RAG architectures and semantic searches.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to design, develop and optimize modern data platforms while helping shape how organizations use their data to create value. This role combines expertise in database administration, data engineering and cloud integration to support client data strategies in retrieving more value from their data.

You’ll contribute to projects involving advanced analytics, artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing while developing your expertise alongside an experienced team.
