Benevity is seeking a Manager of Data Governance to lead our data governance program and own DataHub as the living catalog of our data assets. You will define quality standards, drive policy, and partner with Product, Design, and Engineering to translate governance into practical action.

The role requires cross-functional leadership, cloud awareness, and a track record building scalable governance programs in a fast-paced tech environment.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a data catalog or metadata management platform; DataHub preferred.
• Ability to define data quality dimensions, SLAs, and health scores.
• Familiar with privacy and entitlement governance platforms.
• Strong cross-functional communication with executives and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Ability to build data governance programs from the ground up in a growing governance culture.
• Knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, SOC 2, and internal audit standards.
• Policy drafting and translating governance into practice across a complex organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Data Governance function and set strategic direction for data ownership and policy.
• Own DataHub catalog and metadata management, tagging, lineage, and domain stewardship.
• Evaluate and deploy platforms like Collibra, Alation, or Atlan for governance capabilities.
• Own the Data Quality Framework with six dimensions across all functions.
• Classify data assets into Tier 1–3 with SLAs and enforcement.
