In this role, the individual will own and manage data governance functions across several information systems managed and owned by the AABI team. The Data Governance lead will partner primarily with business stakeholders and also with IT architecture and system owners to build governance processes, including reference data management, data dictionary, data encyclopedia, business glossary, and data cataloging.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop, deploy, and maintain Data Governance frameworks and policies across the systems.
  2. Own and act as the SME on Data Governance policies, enabling business priorities.
  3. Develop and maintain an inventory of enterprise information maps, including systems, owners, and associated processes.
  4. Establish and govern an enterprise data governance implementation roadmap aligning with strategic priorities of CxI.
  5. Build an enterprise-wide data governance framework focused on improving data quality and protecting sensitive data through organizational policies, standards, principles, metrics, processes, tools, and data architecture.
  6. Partner with stakeholders and functions to implement data governance solutions across the affiliate network.
  7. Facilitate adoption of data quality and data protection standards across the enterprise by partnering and influencing without authority.
  8. Oversee relevant work and deliverables, coordinating with internal resources and external consultants (onshore/offshore).
  9. Ensure compliance with regulations like CCPA, GDPR, and other data privacy laws, partnering with data privacy experts.
  10. Manage stakeholder relationships in a cross-functional environment relevant to data governance.
  11. Create and own the budget, ensuring projects are executed within planned financial parameters.
  12. Manage data cataloging efforts across the GTM stream.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  2. 8-10 years of experience in structuring and managing data governance functions.
  3. 6+ years of experience in the commercial/medical pharma-biotech industry.
  4. Strong knowledge of data governance, data quality, and data protection practices.
  5. Understanding of industry regulations and emerging trends in data management.
  6. Proficiency in data governance functions relevant to the life sciences industry, especially in commercial and medical domains.
  7. Hands-on experience in data stewardship within the life sciences domain.
  8. Familiarity with industry-standard data governance frameworks.
  9. Experience with technology platforms like Collibra is a plus.
  10. Proven leadership of cross-functional teams and projects.
  11. Experience working in matrix organizations with internal and external resources.
  12. Excellent communication skills, proactive, self-initiator, and collaborative attitude.
