Role Overview

The Data Governance Analyst contributes to the overall success of Allstate’s Data Governance program by ensuring that strategic objectives are met. This role involves enforcing data standards, policies, and procedures, and collaborating with internal teams to maintain data integrity supporting business objectives. An excellent opportunity for a recent graduate.

Role Designation:

Hybrid

Accountabilities:
  1. Assist in the rollout of Allstate’s Data Governance (DG) platform by onboarding authoritative data sources into Informatica’s Intelligent Data Management Cloud.
  2. Provide support to lines of business and project teams on Data Practices such as Data Catalog, Data Quality, Classification, and Metadata Management.
  3. Analyze and manipulate large structured and unstructured datasets.
  4. Track metrics and program milestones for reporting to senior management.
  5. Develop a deep understanding of DG at the practitioner level.
Qualifications:
  • Up to 2 years of experience with a post-secondary degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Economics, or Business Administration.
  • Analytical mindset, structured thinker, and effective communicator.
  • Intermediate in Excel and Visio.
  • Intermediate SQL coding and documentation skills.
  • Experience with technical and business metadata from structured data.
  • Experience defining Data Quality rules and thresholds with data producers.
  • Ability to analyze data issues, perform root cause analysis, and provide solutions.
  • Knowledge of industry standards like DCAM/DAMA or CDMP.
  • Knowledge of Agile Frameworks (Scrum, Kanban).
Bonus Qualifications:
  • Experience with Data Catalog/Governance tools using Informatica (preferred), Alation, Collibra, or Purview.
