Role Overview

The Data Governance Analyst contributes to the overall success of Allstate’s Data Governance program by ensuring that short- and long-term strategic objectives are met. This role involves enforcing data standards, policies, and procedures, and collaborating with internal teams to maintain data integrity, ensuring it supports business objectives. An excellent opportunity for a recent graduate.

Role Designation:

Hybrid

Accountabilities:
  • Assist in the rollout of Allstate’s Data Governance (DG) platform by onboarding authoritative data sources into Informatica’s Intelligent Data Management Cloud.
  • Provide support to lines of business and project teams on the execution of Data Practices (DP) such as Data Catalog, Data Quality, Classification, and Metadata Management.
  • Perform analysis and manipulation of large structured and unstructured datasets.
  • Track metrics and program milestones for reporting to senior management.
  • Develop a deep understanding of DG at the practitioner level.
Qualifications:
  • Up to 2 years of experience combined with a post-secondary degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Economics, Business Administration.
  • Analytical mindset, structured thinker, and effective communicator.
  • Intermediate level in Excel and Visio.
  • Intermediate level of writing and documenting SQL code.
  • Experience working with technical and business metadata from structured data.
  • Experience defining Data Quality rules and thresholds with data producers.
  • Experience analyzing data issues, performing root cause analysis, and providing solutions.
  • Knowledge of industry standards like DCAM/DAMA or CDMP.
  • Knowledge of Agile Framework (Scrum, Kanban).
Bonus qualifications:
  • Knowledge and experience with Data Catalog/Governance tools using Informatica (preferred), Alation, Collibra, Purview is a plus.
