Job summary

Intact is launching a data engineering developer internship in Montreal to join a growing team of Digital, Data and Tech experts. You will build and optimize ELT/ETL pipelines, model data and support reporting while learning cutting-edge cloud technologies and data governance practices.

You will collaborate with developers, DevOps, data scientists and business users to depersonalize datasets and ensure data quality, contributing to trusted data assets for internal teams.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in AI, data science, computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, statistics or related field.
• Available to work full-time, 35 hours per week, for the Winter 2027 Term (January to April).
• Must be an active student during internship and/or returning to school in Summer/Fall 2027 after internship.
• Bilingualism is required for Quebec-based candidates interacting with colleagues across the country.
• No Canadian work experience required, but eligible to work in Canada.
• Strong enthusiasm for data engineering and cloud technologies, and solid understanding of data, Big Data challenges, databases, ML/AI.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL is required.
• Knowledge of PySpark and AWS is an asset.

What you'll do here:

• Build , optimise and maintain data ELT/ETL pipeline to ingest data into Intact's enterprise data platform leveraging Python and Databricks .
• Contribute to Intact's best practice to depersonalize datasets .
• Work on data modeling and building reporting capabilities .
• Work on certifying the data as a trusted asset by building data reconciliation pipeline.
• Participate in the development of data quality controls .
• Learn the best practices with the use of cutting-edge technologies such as AWS, Databricks , and Snowflake .
• Join a team of cross-functional members, collaborating closely with developers, devops , data scientists, and end users.

What you bring to the table:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in artificial intelligence, data science, computer science, computer engineering, mathematics , statistics or any related field .
• Available to work with us full-time, 35 hours per week, for the Winter 2027 Term ( January to April ) .
• Must be an active student during your internship and/or returning to school in next Summer or Fall 2027 following your internship .
• For candidates located in Quebec , bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English speaking colleagues across the country .
• No Canadian work experience require d, but must be eligible to work in Canada.
• A strong enthusiasm for data engineering and cloud technologies, and a solid understanding of data, Big Data challenges, database systems , machine learning , and artificial intelligence.
