Job summary

Capgemini is seeking a data engineer in Montreal to design and develop scalable data and analytics solutions using Snowflake, Databricks and Python. You will build ETL/ELT pipelines, optimize performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams on end-to-end data products.

The role requires strong SQL, data modeling, and cloud experience, with a focus on governance, security, and production support. Opportunity to contribute to modern data platforms and reporting workloads.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software development experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with Snowflake and cloud data platforms.
  • 2+ years hands-on Databricks Spark development experience.
  • Strong Python programming and SQL skills.
  • Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and data workflows.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing and data lake architectures.
  • Familiarity with Airflow or Azure Data Factory for orchestration.
  • Experience with distributed systems and performance tuning.
  • Proactive problem solving and stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain scalable data solutions using Snowflake and Databricks.
  • Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
  • Develop Python applications, automation scripts, APIs and data integrations.
  • Write complex SQL, stored procedures and data transformations.
  • Implement data models, quality controls and reconciliation processes.
  • Collaborate with analysts, engineers and architects across teams.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot and optimize data pipelines and applications.
  • Support CI/CD, testing, release management and production support.
  • Ensure security, governance and regulatory compliance.
