Job summary

TD is seeking a Data Engineer Intern/Co-op to join the Technology group in Toronto. You will work on TD's big data platform, contributing to development, testing, and deployment tasks across teams.

You will gain exposure to SDLC processes, PoC activities, and security-focused coding practices while building real-world analytics solutions. Ideal candidates are enrolled in CS/Engineering programs, in good standing, with knowledge of Java, Python, Scala, PySpark or SQL.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a technology program (CS, Eng, IT management, computing).
• Preference for 3rd/4th year students.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, Scala, PySpark or SQL with data engineering familiarity.
• Experience with data generation, masking, subsetting or data modeling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Follow SDLC and PM methodologies to complete development tasks.
• Test and debug to ensure defect-free programming.
• Design, develop and deploy system enhancements.
• Perform unit and integration tests and document deployment plans.
• Participate in proofs-of-concept for new technologies and document findings.
• Cover best-practice security coding throughout development.
