Job summary

Avanade Inc. in Toronto is seeking a Data Engineer to join the Data Engineering team within the Business Intelligence practice. You’ll leverage Microsoft cloud technology and modern data platforms to deliver cutting-edge analytics solutions for clients.

You will explore data, apply statistics, and help shape data architectures while staying ahead of trends in AI, cloud, and big data. The role involves collaboration with project teams and exposure to Hadoop, Spark, Databricks, and Kafka

Qualifications

• Experience applying statistical methods to real business problems
• Proficient in programming languages used for data engineering (Python/Scala)
• Ability to design and optimize data models for analytics

What you’ll do:

• Use your knowledge of statistics, programming, data modeling, and advanced mathematics to recognize patterns, identify opportunities, ask business questions, and make valuable discoveries that lead to better business decisions.
• Support passionate project teams developing customer solutions through exploratory data analysis.
• Provide feedback on data visualization techniques and opportunities.
• Stay up-to-date on current trends in AI, cloud computing, and big data within the data community.
• Be introduced to implementing big data architectures with tools such as Hadoop, Spark, Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Kafka.
