Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services Canada Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize data pipelines and data lakes in AWS. The role focuses on S3 data lakes, Redshift data warehouses, and ETL/ELT workflows, aligning with banking/financial services needs and governance.

You will implement scalable data architectures, collaborate with stakeholders, and ensure data quality and security across the AWS data platform. Toronto-based, in Canada, with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Strong banking and financial services domain experience with demonstrated expertise in data warehouse and cloud data platform implementations.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and workflows on AWS.
• Build and manage data lakes and data warehouses (e.g., Amazon S3, Amazon Redshift).
• Develop ETL/ELT processes using tools such as AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, or Apache Spark.
• Strong solution knowledge in AWS Cloud and hands-on experience with ETL processes, including Kafka message processing, batch interface data ingestion, and other business-layer processes.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and workflows.
• Coordinate with clients, data users, and key stakeholders to understand feature requirements and merge them into reusable design patterns.

Role and Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and workflows on AWS.
• Build and manage data lakes and data warehouses (e.g., Amazon S3, Amazon Redshift).
• Develop ETL/ELT processes using tools such as AWS Glue, AWS Lambda, or Apache Spark.
• Strong solution knowledge in AWS Cloud and hands-on experience with ETL processes, including Kafka message processing, batch interface data ingestion, and other business-layer processes.
• Optimize data ingestion, transformation, and loading processes.
• Work with stakeholders to understand and deliver data requirements.
• Ensure data quality, governance, and security compliance.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and workflows.
• Improve performance, cost optimization, and scalability.
• Coordinate with clients, data users, and key stakeholders to understand feature requirements and merge them into reusable design patterns.
• Analyze and understand existing IBM Netezza code to design and implement equivalent capabilities within an AWS Data Lake environment.
• Perform unit testing and support QA, SIT, and performance testing activities.
• Support migration activities to the production environment.

Salary Range - CA$ 100,000 - CA$ 120,000 Per Year
