Job summary

TEEMA is seeking a Data Engineer in Montreal, QC to design, implement, and validate data solutions across multiple systems. You will ensure data quality, perform transformations, and collaborate with QA teams to ensure robust delivery for internal and external clients.

The role requires 6–10 years of experience, strong data modeling, PySpark/Python, and proficiency in Git, Docker, and cloud platforms (GCP or Azure). Bilingual French/English is preferred.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Star Schema and SCD.
• Intermediate PySpark/Spark and Python.
• Strong familiarity with Data Flows; Git and Docker.
• French and English proficiency.
• Cloud environments (GCP or Azure) preferred.

What you will be doing:

• Design, program, and implement software applications to meet specific user needs.

• Ensure data quality, reliability, and integrity through validation, control, and process automation.

• Extract, clean, and transform data from multiple systems.

• Collaborate with QA Analysts to perform testing (including regression testing) and resolve bugs to ensure robust code.

• Maintain existing code, deploy updates, and troubleshoot issues for internal/external clients.

• Participate in peer code reviews to ensure quality and knowledge sharing.

What you must have:

• Experience:6–10 years of relevant experience.

• Data Modeling:Proficient in Star Schema and Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD).

• Technical Skills:

  • Intermediate level in PySpark/Spark and Python.

  • Strong familiarity with Data Flows.

  • Proficiency with Git and Docker.
    Proficiency in French

  • Understanding of cloud environments (GCP or Azure preferred).

• Development Practices:Knowledge of good programming practices, including unit testing, peer reviews, and CI/CD.

• Methodologies:Experience with Agile and/or Scaled Agile Frameworks (SAFe).

• Power BI:Familiarity with Power BI (this is not a primary Power BI development role, but foundational knowledge is required).
• Proficiency in French, English
