Job summary

CAE Inc. is seeking a data engineer to develop and maintain ETL pipelines, design data flows, and ensure data availability for analytics teams. You will collaborate across functions on modeling data, dashboards, and reports while supporting existing pipelines.

Minimum 2–3 years in data engineering with a CS degree and strong SQL skills is expected. The role offers a hybrid work environment and attractive benefits in Canada.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of data engineering experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Strong SQL and data pipeline/ETL knowledge.
  • Ability to work with analytics and business teams.
  • Completed Data Science coursework or certification.

  • Design and optimize workflows to extract, transform and load data from various sources.

  • Troubleshoot and support existing data pipelines and integrations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain ETL processes using Microsoft SSIS and/or Microsoft Fabric Data Pipelines
  • Design and optimize workflows to extract, transform, and load data from various sources.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and availability for business analysts and reporting teams.
  • Collaborate with analysts to deliver modelled data, dashboards, and reports.
  • Troubleshoot and support existing data pipelines and integrations
Required Skills/Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (preferably with a focus on Data Science and Analytics) or equivalent experience.
  • Strong experience with SQL, including writing and optimizing complex queries.
  • Understanding of ETL concepts and data pipeline design.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with analytics and business teams.
  • Completed Data Science coursework or certification
Preferred Skills
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft SSIS, Microsoft Fabric, or similar ETL tools.
  • Familiarity with IBM Cognos, Power BI, or other BI/reporting tools.
  • Proficiency in Python and familiarity with common Data Science libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn)
  • Knowledge of data modelling and data warehouse concepts.
  • Interest in data analytics and visualization.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 2-3 years of data engineering experience
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain Controlled Goods Clearance and Level II NATO Secret security clearance
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada as a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or holder of a valid Work Permit
