Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of Data Engineering experience with the relevant tech stack
• Strong experience with Snowflake, Arora, Postgres, Glue (Spark) or EMR or Spark and Kinesis (streaming)
• Proficiency with QL Server, AWS Glue, Snowflake, Lambda, Python
• Experience with cloud technologies such as S3 [AWS], EC2, Linux
• Strong SQL query skills, including writing high-performing queries

• Familiarity with SSIS

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join a real estate tech company. The successful candidate must be located in the Greater Vancouver Area. The role involves supporting the team with:

• Database Design and Development: Designing and implementing scalable database solutions using SQL Server and Snowflake, developing database procedures, schemas, tables, indexes, and views.
• SQL Server Query Optimization: Analyzing and optimizing SQL queries, resolving performance issues, and collaborating with developers to improve database responsiveness.
• Data Modeling: Designing data models aligned with business needs, ensuring data integrity.
• ETL Processes: Creating and maintaining ETL processes, integrating data from various sources.
• Monitoring and Maintenance: Setting up monitoring tools, performing backups, restores, data purges, and index maintenance.
• Scripting and Automation: Using Unix and PowerShell scripting, calling scripts from SSIS, moving data files into S3, scripting simple tasks.
• Collaboration and Documentation: Working with cross-functional teams, participating in architectural discussions, documenting processes, and communicating technical concepts clearly.
