Job summary

Reboot Monkey is seeking an experienced Data Center Technician for a freelance/contract role in Lethbridge, Canada. This on-site position supports mission-critical infrastructure at premier data center facilities.

Responsibilities include hardware installations, cabling, server racking, and issue troubleshooting. Candidates should have 2+ years in data center/IT infra, strong cabling, server hardware experience, and English communication skills. Certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years data center or IT infrastructure experience.
• Strong cabling skills (Cat5e/6/6a, single-mode/multi-mode fiber).
• Experience with server hardware (Dell, HP, Supermicro).
• Data center certifications (CDCP, CDCS) preferred.
• Network certifications (CCNA, Network+) preferred.
• Professional communication skills in English.
• Own transportation and ability to work on-site.

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware installations, decommissions, and migrations.
• Execute structured cabling (copper and fiber optic).
• Conduct server racking, stacking, and labeling.
• Perform cross-connects and patch panel work.
• Troubleshoot connectivity and hardware issues.
• Document all work with photos and detailed notes; coordinate with remote NOC and client teams.

About The Role

Compensation

C$26-36/hr (CAD hourly)

Rates vary based on experience level and project complexity. Emergency and after-hours work may qualify for premium rates.
