Job summary

TEKsystems seeks Data Centre Technicians to support onsite in data centres. The role requires up to 80% travel across Canada, with a base in Calgary, AB.

This is a long-term contract opportunity with responsibilities including triaging issues, documenting outcomes, and performing server maintenance. Ideal candidates will have extensive PowerEdge server experience, strong fault triage abilities, and access to a reliable vehicle for nationwide travel.

Responsibilities

• Triage issues with direction from Vendor and DT Lead
• Document POA results, logs and service reports

• Upgrade firmware as needed
• Manage parts locker and spare parts
• Return defective/unused parts to Vendor

Description

One of TEKsystems' largest Professional Service clients is seeking strong Data Centre Technicians to support clients onsite in their Data Centres.

We're looking for resources who are comfortable traveling 80% of the engagement.

This is a long term contract opportunity.

Should have extensive experience supporting, building, maintaining PowerEdge servers.

Must be comfortable triaging issues, and documenting.

Required Skills:

PowerEdge Server

Work at the direction of the DT Field Services Leader for the supported site.

Provide troubleshooting, repair, parts ordering, preventative maintenance and installation of product located at Customer Site.

• Triage issues with direction from Vendor
• Execute plan of action from Domain Engineer
• Document POA Results, logs and service reports (Parts numbers/PPID of old/new parts replaced)
• Reseating parts, swap or replace parts
• Server Testing and validation (running diagnostics, capturing and uploading logs)
• Upgrading Firmware as needed
• Parts locker management, manage inbound and outbound parts
• Spare parts management, separate from parts locker
• Return of defective part or unused part back to Vendor Parts Return
