Job summary

IREN in Prince George, BC seeks a Construction Superintendent–Mechanical to lead mechanical construction on a data center project featuring advanced cooling and robust infrastructure. You will supervise multi-trade crews, review design docs, and coordinate with IT, electrical, and civil teams to ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in mechanical construction management on large projects.
• Experience with data centers, LNG, power, or petrochemical sectors preferred.
• Strong knowledge of chilled water, liquid cooling, pumps, and HVAC systems.
• Hands-on commissioning: pressure testing, flushing, turnover.
• Familiar with CSA, ASME, NFPA, and BC Building Code.
• Red Seal certification or equivalent; engineering degree is a plus.
• Proven ability to lead multi-trade crews on site.

Responsibilities

• Oversee mechanical construction activities, including chilled water plants and liquid cooling loops.
• Review designs, P&IDs, and specs to ensure compliance and quality.
• Directly supervise pipefitting, plumbing, HVAC, insulation, and millwright trades.
• Coordinate with electrical, civil and IT teams for integration.
• Manage subcontractors, vendors, and schedules within budget.
• Oversee commissioning, testing, start-up, and turnover of systems.
• Uphold CSA/ASME/NFPA codes and safety standards on site.
• Report progress and risks to project leadership and clients.
