Job summary

Mother Parkers Tea & Coffee is seeking a Data Architect & Fabric Platform Lead to define and govern the enterprise data architecture and Microsoft Fabric platform. You will lead data engineering, platform modernization, governance, and solution design to deliver scalable, secure data foundations for reporting, analytics, AI, and business decisions.

You will guide the evolution of the Fabric ecosystem, set enterprise architecture standards, drive modernization, and mentor technical resources

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience in Data Architecture, Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, BI, or related disciplines.
  • 2-3 years as a Data Architect, Technical Lead, or Senior Data Engineering Lead.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale cloud data platforms.
  • Experience leading architecture initiatives and technical teams.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum/Kanban/hybrid delivery.
  • Experience in CPG, Manufacturing, or ERP environments preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Pipelines, Notebooks, Semantic Models, and modern cloud data platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of Medallion Architecture, Data Warehousing, and cloud-native data patterns.
  • Proficiency in T-SQL, SSIS/DTS, relational databases, and enterprise data modeling.
  • Hands-on experience with Python, Spark/PySpark, REST APIs, and modern data engineering practices.
  • Experience designing scalable data ingestion frameworks for structured, semi-structured data.
  • Strong data governance, data quality, metadata management, security, and lineage principles.

Responsibilities

  • Own the enterprise data architecture roadmap and Fabric platform strategy.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable target-state architectures and roadmaps.
  • Design and govern OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Medallion Architecture, Data Pipelines, and semantic models.
  • Architect and support enterprise data platforms for reporting, analytics, automation, and AI.
  • Design and govern ingestion frameworks for batch, delta, and real-time integrations.
  • Optimize data pipelines and performance with modern engineering practices.
  • Define CI/CD, deployment automation, source control, and environment management using Azure DevOps.
  • Establish data engineering standards, reusable frameworks, and governance processes.
  • Define standards for data quality, security, metadata, lineage, and lifecycle management.
  • Manage Fabric and Azure platform utilization, capacity, monitoring, and cost optimization.
  • Support governance, cybersecurity, compliance, and enterprise architecture initiatives.
  • Define AI-ready data architectures for ML, GenAI, Copilot, and enterprise AI.
  • Provide architecture guidance for AI and data science workloads with scalability and governance.
  • Lead architecture reviews, design reviews, and mentoring across data teams.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to align with enterprise standards and objectives.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies to improve scalability, governance, automation, and business value.
  • Drive modernization, migrations and optimization of legacy BI and data integrations to Fabric.

The Role:

Reporting to the Senior Manager - BI Analytics & Applied AI, the Data Architect & Fabric Platform Lead is responsible for defining and governing the enterprise data architecture and Microsoft Fabric platform. This role provides technical leadership for data engineering, platform modernization, governance, and solution design, ensuring scalable, secure, and reliable data foundations that support reporting, analytics, AI, and business decision-making.

The position will lead the evolution of Mother Parkers' Microsoft Fabric ecosystem, establish enterprise architecture standards, drive modernization initiatives, and mentor technical resources while partnering with business and technology teams to deliver high-quality data solutions. The role is accountable for the Data Engineering & Platform capability within the BI organization.

  • Design and govern OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold), Data Pipelines, Semantic Models, and enterprise data products.
  • Architect and support enterprise data platforms that enable reporting, analytics, automation, and AI initiatives.
  • Design and govern parameterized ingestion frameworks supporting batch, incremental, and near real-time integrations from databases, APIs, files, ERP systems, and other enterprise applications.
  • Optimize data pipeline, semantic model, and query performance through modern engineering practices, partitioning strategies, incremental loading, Direct Lake architecture, and scalable design patterns.
  • Define and implement CI/CD, deployment automation, source control, and environment management practices using Azure DevOps and Microsoft Fabric deployment capabilities.
  • Establish data engineering standards, reusable frameworks, technical governance processes, and best practices across the BI organization.
  • Define and enforce standards for data quality, security, metadata management, lineage, documentation, data dictionary, and lifecycle management.
  • Manage Microsoft Fabric and Azure platform utilization, capacity planning, performance monitoring, and cloud cost optimization.
  • Support data governance, cybersecurity, compliance, and enterprise architecture initiatives across the analytics landscape.
  • Define and govern AI-ready data architectures that support Machine Learning, Generative AI, Copilot, and enterprise AI initiatives.
  • Provide architecture guidance for AI, advanced analytics, and data science workloads to ensure scalability, governance, and security.
  • Establish technical standards for reusable AI-ready datasets and enterprise data products.
  • Lead architecture reviews, code reviews, technical mentoring, and knowledge-sharing initiatives across data engineering and analytics teams.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, BTS teams, and solution leads to ensure technical solutions align with business objectives and enterprise standards.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative approaches that improve scalability, governance, automation, and business value.
  • Drive modernization efforts, including migration and optimization of legacy BI, database, and integration solutions into Microsoft Fabric.
What you bring to the role:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of experience in Data Architecture, Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience serving as a Data Architect, Technical Lead, or Senior Data Engineering Lead.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale cloud data platforms.
  • Experience leading architecture initiatives, platform modernization programs, and technical teams.
  • Experience working within Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Experience within Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG), Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, or ERP-driven environments is strongly preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Pipelines, Notebooks, Semantic Models, and modern cloud data platforms.
  • Deep understanding of Medallion Architecture, Data Warehousing, Lakehouse concepts, and cloud-native data architecture patterns.
  • Proficiency in T-SQL, SSIS/DTS packages, relational databases, and enterprise data modeling.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Python, Spark/PySpark, REST APIs, and modern data engineering practices.
  • Experience designing scalable data ingestion frameworks supporting structured, semi-structured, and enterprise application data sources.
  • Strong knowledge of database, ETL, ELT, and reporting performance tuning methodologies.
  • Experience preparing, transforming, and modeling data for Business Intelligence and Analytics solutions.
  • Advanced Power BI development skills including Power Query, M Query, DAX, Semantic Models, Direct Lake, Import Models, aggregations, and star schema design.
  • Strong understanding of Data Governance, Data Quality, Master Data Management, Metadata Management, Security, and Data Lineage principles.
  • Experience managing Azure and Fabric capacity utilization, performance, and cost optimization strategies.
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines, source control, release management, and deployment automation using Azure DevOps.
  • Understanding of AI, Machine Learning, Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Copilot architecture, and enterprise AI data foundations.
  • Experience designing and supporting data architectures that enable AI, predictive analytics, and advanced analytics initiatives.
  • Experience leading architecture reviews, technical design reviews, code reviews, and mentoring technical resources.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Understanding of ERP concepts and practical experience with Dynamics 365 and/or CRM is considered a strong asset
