Job Overview
Boardwalk is seeking a seasoned Data Architect who will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable, efficient, and reliable data architecture solutions that align with the organization's strategic objectives. The role will involve collaborating closely with IT engineers, business analysts, and product managers to ensure data systems support business processes, analytics, and reporting requirements.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop comprehensive data architectures, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
- Lead data integration efforts, ensuring robust, real-time, and batch data transfer processes between internal and external systems.
- Redesign and refactor data models to meet evolving needs of the growing enterprise architecture.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize database performance, maintain data integrity, and manage database security.
- Ensure adherence to best practices for data governance, data quality, metadata management, and data lineage.
- Implement strategies for data migration, consolidation, and archival that ensure minimal downtime and data loss.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to team members on data modeling techniques, database optimization, and enterprise architecture best practices.
- Stay current with industry trends, continuously evaluating emerging technologies to recommend improvements in data infrastructure and practices.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to align data strategy with business needs, facilitating data-driven decision-making.
- Design and implement AI-ready data infrastructure to support machine learning, predictive analytics, and large-scale data processing use cases.
- Monitor and troubleshoot data integration pipelines to ensure timely and successful data operations
- Maintain documentation for integration processes, data models, failure scenarios, and troubleshooting steps
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in data architecture, database design, and data modeling.
- Expert knowledge of SQL and experience with NoSQL databases, data warehouses, and data lakes.
- Proven experience with data integration tools, ETL/ELT processes, and event-driven data solutions.
- Hands on experience with both on-prem and cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
- Experience in designing and implementing high-volume, scalable data processing systems.
- Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data privacy standards, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Strong experience leveraging APIs for extracting data from software vendor application platforms.
- Experience working with vector databases to support semantic search and AI workloads.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools like Power BI
- Experience working in DevOps methodologies and tools, Agile practices with exposure to Scrum managed teams

- Strong communication skills, able to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with various departments such as product management, infrastructure, and development team members.
- Experience working with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure software solutions meet business needs.
