Job summary

OntarioMD is seeking a Data and Platform Solutions Developer to design, develop, and support data-driven solutions across analytics and enterprise platforms. You will model data, write SQL at the application level, and enable no-code/low-code solutions while maintaining existing reports and data assets.

You will collaborate with multiple teams to translate business needs into scalable data architectures and reporting capabilities using Microsoft technology stack, including Power Platform, SSRS,

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience with Microsoft technologies including SSRS and Power Platforms (Power Apps, and Power Automate).
• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field/ equivalent experience.
• Strong experience with T SQL and relational data concepts, including query design and optimization in an application development context (Microsoft SQL Server).
• Experience maintaining and enhancing SSRS reports, including report logic and definitions.
• Hands on experience developing and supporting low code/no code business solutions using Microsoft 365 platforms (e.g., Power Platform, SharePoint Online, Dynamics 365).
• Experience using analytics and reporting tools such as Power BI and Excel.
• Experience supporting application level data changes and data migration activities, including ETL processes.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure data services used to support application, reporting, and analytics solutions, including relational and non relational data platforms (e.g., Azure SQL and other Azure hosted data services).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into data models, SQL queries, analytics structures, and reporting solutions that support operational and analytical needs.
• Design, maintain, and evolve logical and physical data models supporting application, reporting, and analytics use cases.
• Provide application level SQL development expertise in partnership with development and delivery teams, ensuring scalable, maintainable data access patterns.
• Maintain and incrementally enhance existing reporting and analytics assets, including report definitions, SQL query logic, and supporting data structures.
• Ensure reporting and analytics solutions remain accurate, reliable, and aligned with evolving business needs, within established platform ownership and support boundaries.
• Enable data and analytics consumption through business intelligence, reporting, and productivity platforms used across the organization.
• Design, develop, and support low code/no code business applications and workflow automations on enterprise platforms, including ongoing enhancements and operational support.
• Customize and support no code business solutions to enable corporate service workflows, information management, and user driven process improvements.
• Partner with business users to improve solution usability, performance, data quality, and adoption across both analytics and no code solutions.
• Support application level data changes and controlled data movement activities for development, testing, and solution delivery, in collaboration with Operations and database administrators.
• Review and improve application SQL and data access patterns, providing performance, scalability, and data quality recommendations as appropriate.
• Support Operations by analyzing data related or solution related issues in non production environments and supplying technical findings or recommendations, without platform administration responsibility.
• Document data models, solution designs, configurations, and data flows across analytics and no code solutions to promote knowledge sharing and reduce single points of failure.
• Contribute to best practices for data solutions, reporting consistency, and low code/no code solution development aligned with organizational standards.
• Collaborate with Developers, QA, Business Analysts, Product teams, Application Support, Operations, and external partners to ensure integrated, sustainable, and supportable solution delivery.

The Data and Platform Solutions Developer designs, develops, and supports data-driven and platform-based solutions that enable OntarioMD’s corporate services, analytics needs, and application teams. This role has evolved from a traditional, database-centric focus to align with OntarioMD’s current portfolio realities and platform ownership model. The position emphasizes data modeling and analytics enablement, application-level SQL development, and low-code/no-code platform solutions, while maintaining and incrementally enhancing existing reporting assets.

The role works collaboratively with Developers, Business Analysts, Product teams, Operations, App Support, and external partners to translate business needs into reliable, maintainable, and well-documented solutions, while operating within established platform ownership and operational support boundaries.

Base salary range of$80,000 - $95,000annually; final compensation offered will be determined based on experience, skill set, education, training, and internal equity.
