Job summary

FluidAI Medical in Kitchener, ON is seeking a Data and AI Engineering Associate for an 8+ month term to join our Software Led Team. You will work on data-driven surgical solutions by designing, implementing, and deploying cloud and mobile architectures that collect and present patient data to clinicians.

Ideal candidates have strong foundations in software architecture, backend systems, data structures, and privacy-by-design principles.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of backend architecture design and implications on development, security, and privacy.
• Strong knowledge of data structures and database fundamentals.
• Strong knowledge of back-end development (C# preferred).
• Strong knowledge of mobile software development (Android Kotlin & Java preferred).
• Good UX design knowledge for website and mobile development.
• Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills.
• Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and rapidly changing conditions.
• Understanding of HIPAA/PHIPA regulations and data security basics.
• Familiarity with version-control software (Git).
• Optional: Python.

Transparency & Hiring Practices:

• Compensation : The pay for this position will be based on average co-op wages as outlined by your academic institution’s co-op program or similar institutions if specific data is unavailable, ensuring fair and competitive compensation aligned with industry and academic standards. The typical range for this role is $22 - $25 per hour for work terms 2-4.
• Grant Eligibility : This position is made possible through wage subsidy grants such as BioTalent SWPP. As such, participants must be a current student, registered in a Canadian Post-secondary program. International students are not eligible. Eligible participants must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada and be legally entitled to work.
• Co-op Requirement : As this is a co-op position, candidates must have a co-op work term scheduled with their university for the term they are applying for.
