Job summary

S I Systems is seeking a Data Analytics Functional Tester for a 5-month contract in Toronto. The role focuses on manual QA testing, data validation, and validating data transformations within financial reporting environments.

You will work with Finance Operations, Data Analytics, and Development teams in a hybrid in-office setting (Wed/Thu). Candidates should have 3-5 years of experience in data-centric QA, strong Excel and SQL skills, and knowledge of data reconciliation processes.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of Manual QA testing within data-centric applications, financial reporting systems, ETL processes, or data transformation workflows
• Advanced Microsoft Excel including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data validation, and complex formulas
• Intermediate to advanced SQL including SELECT, JOIN, GROUP BY, aggregations, and subqueries
• Data validation, reconciliation, and defect management across finance-related systems and reports

Responsibilities

• Execute manual test cases and validate data integrity across financial systems and reporting platforms
• Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, test scripts, and related documentation
• Analyze large datasets using Excel to identify anomalies, inconsistencies, and data quality issues
• Write SQL queries to validate data transformations and perform reconciliations
• Document, track, and communicate defects through resolution
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to maintain quality standards and support project delivery
