Job summary

Mercor is seeking data analysts and spreadsheet specialists for a research project with a leading AI lab. You will work 10-20 hours per week on your Mac, performing real data analysis and spreadsheet tasks to help benchmark and improve AI models.

Ideal candidates own a Mac, have advanced Excel/Numbers/Google Sheets skills, and familiarity with SQL, Python, R, or BI tools. Masters students or those with 2-3 years' experience plus a Bachelor's from a top institution are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Own a MacBook or Mac with Apple M-series or Intel, macOS 15+ required.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, Numbers, and/or Google Sheets (pivot tables, lookups, charts, data cleaning, financial or operational models)
• Experience with SQL, Python/R, or BI tools (Tableau, Power BI) is a plus
• Pursuing or completed Masters studies, or 2-3 years of relevant experience + Bachelor's from a prestigious institution
• Ability to clearly explain your reasoning
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Part-time commitment of approximately 10-20 hours per week
• Complete and narrate real data analysis and spreadsheet tasks on your Mac to create high-quality training data for advanced AI models
• Responsibilities are clearly structured with low pressure compared to internships or full-time consulting roles
• Immediate start preferred

Mercor is looking for data analysts and spreadsheet specialists with 2-3 years of experience, or currently enrolled postgrad students in a quantitative field, to support a research project with a leading AI lab. You will work through real data analysis workflows on your own Mac to help benchmark and improve cutting-edge AI models.

Qualifications:

• Required: You must own a MacBook or Mac with an Apple M-series chip or Intel processor, running macOS 15 or higher. Applicants without a Mac cannot be considered.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel, Numbers, and/or Google Sheets (pivot tables, lookups, charts, data cleaning, financial or operational models)

• Experience with SQL, Python/R, or BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus

• Currently pursuing or recently completed Masters studies, or have 2-3 years of relevant experience + Bachelors from a prestigious institution
