Job summary

Mercor is seeking a part-time automation enthusiast to run real productivity tasks on a Mac and narrate the process for AI model benchmarking. You will use Mac automation tools to build workflows and generate training data while operating with clear explanations and strong communication.

The role is designed as a low-pressure internship-like engagement, with roughly 10–20 hours per week and immediate start preferred, based in Toronto, Ontario.

Qualifications

• Own a MacBook or Mac with Apple silicon or Intel, macOS 15+.
• Deep familiarity with macOS, apps, and keyboard-driven workflows.
• Experience automating tasks with common Mac tools or shell scripts.
• Pursuing masters or 2-3 years relevant experience plus BA from a reputable school.
• Clear reasoning and strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Complete and narrate real production-like automation tasks on a Mac.

Role Overview:

Mercor is looking for computer power users and automation builders with 2-3 years of relevant experience, or currently enrolled postgrad students, to support a research project with a leading AI lab. You will work through real productivity and automation workflows on your own Mac to help benchmark and improve cutting-edge AI models.

Qualifications:

• Required: You must own a MacBook or Mac with an Apple M-series chip or Intel processor, running macOS 15 or higher. Applicants without a Mac cannot be considered.

• Deep familiarity with macOS and its apps, keyboard-driven workflows, and system settings

• Experience building automations with tools such as Shortcuts, Automator, AppleScript, Keyboard Maestro, Raycast, Alfred, Zapier, Make, or shell scripting

• Currently pursuing or recently completed Masters studies, or have 2-3 years of relevant experience + Bachelors from a prestigious institution

• Ability to clearly explain your reasoning while you work

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
