Job summary

Canada Life is seeking a Data Access Engineering Specialist to join the Data Access Management team in Toronto. You will design, build, test, deploy and support data access solutions, coordinating with leaders and other tech teams to hit program milestones.

The role requires hands-on implementation experience in data governance, access management, and integration with data catalogs and security tools, with a focus on RBAC/ABAC/PBAC and data classification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
• Minimum five years in Data Access Governance.
• At least three years hands-on implementation in Data Access Governance.
• Experience with data governance, data quality and metadata management.
• Strong knowledge of data sources, structures, and analytical solutions.
• Familiarity with data protection laws and privacy requirements.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy and support data access management solutions.
• Work with leaders and tech teams to meet program milestones.
• Own modules and sustain Data Access Management services.
• Implement RBAC/ABAC/PBAC and data classification controls.
• Identify and analyze data access issues and provide insights.
• Prepare regular updates for stakeholders on progress and risks.
• Participate in testing to ensure proper tool integrations.
