Description

Our team and what we’ll accomplish together

We live in and work in a rapidly evolving digital world where cyber security is critical. The Global CSO function for TELUS Health focuses on the security of Sensitive Health Information (PHI) and regulatory compliance, aiming to meet and exceed the expectations of our global customers as the most trusted wellbeing company in the world. The TELUS Health CSO team strives to stay ahead, tackling the toughest cybersecurity challenges with top talent and cutting-edge technology.

The Cybersecurity Risk Management team is the central hub for identifying, assessing, and managing cybersecurity risks across the organization. You will report to the Manager, Cybersecurity Risks, and collaborate across TELUS Health to translate technical vulnerabilities into security-relevant risk themes, providing leadership with insights for informed, risk-aware decisions.

If you're seeking impact, visibility, and growth, this is the team for you. You’ll be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking group that not only flags risks but also helps solve them. You’ll work on high-priority initiatives, engage with stakeholders at all levels, and help shape cybersecurity risk management. We value critical thinking, curiosity, and clear communication—and we support your development every step of the way.

What you will do

  • Own and maintain the Cybersecurity Risk Register, providing strategic guidance to the CSO and cross-functional teams in documenting, classifying, and evaluating risks across TELUS Health’s information systems.
  • Analyze and understand established and emerging risks, ensuring assessment accuracy and consistency. Deliver high-quality risk evaluations and actionable recommendations.
  • Align risk management practices with industry frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO/IEC 27001) and internal standards.
  • Collaborate with risk owners and stakeholders to support risk mitigation and remediation, following through on open actions with diligence and diplomacy.
  • Conduct annual and ad-hoc risk assessments, developing clear risk reports for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of data analytics, Python, and VBA for dashboard management is a plus.
  • Work effectively in an agile environment; proficient in Office365 and Google Workspace.
Qualifications

What you bring

  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity domains such as network security, vulnerability management, cloud security, governance, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity risk management frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS).
  • Experience in threat risk assessments for on-premise and cloud technologies (Google, Azure).
  • Familiarity with data protection, privacy, and health-related laws (GDPR, HIPAA, PIPEDA).
  • Experience with GRC platforms like OneTrust, AuditBoard, Jira, ServiceNow.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for senior management.
  • Cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISA, CISM, CRISC) are highly desirable.

Proficiency in English is required for interactions with external and internal parties and for using English-based IT tools, given the role's scope.

By applying, you agree that your information will be shared with TELUS Group of Companies’ Talent Acquisition team and relevant leaders involved in the selection process.

Salary Range: $82,000 - $124,000

Performance Bonus/Sales Incentive: 12%
