Payworks is seeking an Information Security Analyst to join the IT Security team in Winnipeg. The role focuses on monitoring, threat detection, incident response, and security improvements across the organization.

The ideal candidate has a IT security degree and roughly 3–5 years of relevant experience, with strong communication skills and familiarity with tools like PowerShell, Wireshark, and LogRhythm. Hybrid work options are available in a flexible, inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• University or college degree in IT security or related field
• 3–5 years of experience in a similar technology role is an asset
• Excellent communications and ability to explain complex topics to a wider audience
• Experience with security tools and incident response is an asset
• Certifications such as SANS, ISC2, ISACA, Offensive Security, CompTIA, EC-Council and Cisco are assets
• Familiarity with threat detection and vulnerability management

Responsibilities

• Respond to security incidents and tickets; monitor assets for threats and indicators of compromise
• Use vulnerability scanners, IDS/IPS, and logs to analyze security events and propose solutions
• Provide guidance on vulnerabilities, exposures, mitigation, patching, and validation
• Conduct security awareness training for employees on best practices and policies
• Perform security audits and assessments; contribute to compliance objectives
• Assist in incident response exercises and ongoing process improvements
• Participate in projects to ensure security requirements are met
• Stay current with emerging security trends and technologies
