Job summary

General Dynamics Land Systems–Canada is hiring for an Engineering Cybersecurity role in London, ON. You will develop cybersecurity requirements for automotive software, align with secure architectures, and follow established software processes while working with agile and waterfall teams.

You will document code, troubleshoot security issues, and contribute to solutions in cryptography, intrusion detection, and AI/ML for cybersecurity, with travel as needed.

The Engineering Cybersecurity team evaluates existing systems for security risks based on industry best practices and an understanding of the threats faced by our vehicles. They collaborate with other teams on what security features provide the most value for a given program meeting contractual requirements as well as expected quality from a world-class organization. Cybersecurity team members work closely with others in the software department and engineering to ensure the appropriate level of cybersecurity protection is enabled for a given system.

Key Job Elements
  • Support and develop cybersecurity requirements and products for automotive applications.
  • Follow stakeholder’s strategy for secure vehicle architectures, departmental processes & procedures, cybersecurity best practices into existing software products.
  • Follow established organization software processes and plans for developing software e.g. peer reviews, software requirements specification, test procedures/results, software configuration management, etc.
  • Work within both Agile and Waterfall software development frameworks.
  • Document code and development processes for future reference and compliance.
  • Provide troubleshooting support and technical assistance for software and security related issues, analyzing and resolving customer reported problems.
  • Share new IRAD ideas with the Advanced Products & Technology team, and support project execution as requested.
  • Support the development of technical solutions in areas such as: cryptography, intrusion detection systems, and the use of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) for cybersecurity applications, key management strategies, and infrastructure.
  • Liaise with various teams such as software development, systems engineering, project engineering, and program on cybersecurity topics.
  • Support any incident response activities with the team as issues arise in a timely manner.
R equired Qualifications:

University Degree or College Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field
Strong communication, organization and prioritization skills
Experience working with teams and/or customers
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Intermediate computer skills in MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to Travel (25% Canadian, 5% US & International) and possess and maintain a valid passport

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with Ethernet Frames and Protocols (TCP/IP,UDP)
Strong with C, C++, C#, and Python programming languages
