An established industry player is seeking a Cyber Security Specialist to enhance its security posture across on-premises and cloud environments. In this full-time, on-site contract role, you will implement advanced security controls, ensure compliance with cyber security frameworks, and proactively mitigate risks. Join our team as a Cyber Security Specialist and play a key role in strengthening our security posture across both on-premises and cloud environments. This is a full-time, on-site contract position in Regina, SK.
Implement and monitor advanced security controls in cloud and enterprise environments
Ensure compliance with industry-specific cyber security frameworks and standards
Proactively identify and mitigate cyber security risks
Prepare incident reports, vulnerability assessments, security metrics, and compliance documentation
University degree in computer science, computer engineering, information security, or related field
Minimum five years of hands-on experience in IT security or cyber security operations
Experience in security monitoring and incident response
One or more professional security certifications (CISSP, CISM, GIAC) or vendor credentials (Microsoft Certified Azure Security Engineer Associate)
Proven expertise with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Defender suite, Microsoft Sentinel (SIEM), and vulnerability management platforms (e.g., Tenable One)
Proficiency in PowerShell, JSON, Kusto Query Language (KQL), Logic Apps, or similar
Strong knowledge of cyber security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001/27002, CSA)
Familiarity with incident response methodologies and best practices
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Eligible to obtain and maintain Government of Canada Level 2 Secret Security Clearance
Experience in highly regulated or critical infrastructure environments (energy, utilities, nuclear industry)
Experience with SCADA/ICS environments
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to team goals
