Job summary

Thales Group is seeking a Cyber Security Specialist (Detection Engineer) in Fredericton, hybrid, to monitor and respond to security threats in a Microsoft Azure environment. You will implement detections, perform investigations, and drive security automation across cloud operations and DevSecOps teams.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in cloud security or incident response, hands-on Azure tooling experience, and familiarity with QRadar/XSOAR, RBAC, PIM, and MFA controls.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in cloud security, security operations, detection engineering, or incident response.
• Experience working independently in day-to-day security operations and SOC/CSOC collaboration.
• Familiarity with incident response processes and governance.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, investigate, and triage security events using Defender for Cloud and Sentinel.
• Tune detections, perform root-cause analysis, and escalate as needed.
• Develop automation scripts to support security checks and remediation.
• Support CI/CD security in Azure DevOps/GitHub and manage security tooling.
