Job summary
Panasonic Canada Inc. is seeking a Customs Compliance Analyst in Mississauga to support CBSA Partners in Protection, CSA, and CARM programs.
The role includes developing work plans, tracking milestones, and ensuring timely regulatory compliance while coordinating audits and supplier compliance activities. The candidate will collaborate with regional and global teams, maintain compliance records, and contribute to continuous process improvements, including forced labour initiatives.
Qualifications
- Two-year Customs Administration diploma with a minimum of 5 years of related experience in a customs or trade compliance role, including support for process improvement initiatives.
- Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) and Certified Trade Compliance Specialist (CTCS) designations are required.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint; familiarity with Customs Broker software is considered an asset.
- Experience using analytical tools and systems to review, interpret, and analyze large volumes of information, data, and compliance-related records.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills, including the ability to evaluate recurring and non-recurring situations, identify alternatives, and select appropriate solutions; ability to leverage collaboration and innovation to resolve complex issues.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-management skills, with the ability to build rapport, influence stakeholders, and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and with external parties, including customs authorities, brokers, consultants, and suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Support the management and administration of the CBSA Partners in Protection (PIP), Customs Self Assessment (CSA), and CARM programs by developing work plans, tracking milestones, and ensuring timely completion of compliance requirements.
- Coordinate and manage Trade Chain Partner evaluations, risk assessments, and ongoing compliance activities to support CBSA Trusted Trader Program requirements.
- Monitor, update, and maintain CBSA portals, compliance databases, and reporting systems while providing regular status updates and compliance reporting to management.
- Support customs and trade compliance audits by preparing documentation, tracking corrective actions, developing procedures, and ensuring audit readiness.
- Assist with the implementation and execution of forced labour compliance programs in alignment with Canadian regulatory requirements and the Global Panasonic Forced Labor Program.
- Collaborate with regional and global stakeholders, including procurement teams and external business partners, to ensure compliance activities are completed within required timelines and regulatory expectations.
- Develop, maintain, and revise standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions (WIs), key performance indicators (KPIs), training materials, audit requirements, and compliance documentation.
- Analyze compliance data, prepare reports, create presentations, and communicate project status, risks, recommendations, and performance metrics to management and stakeholders.
- Monitor regulatory developments, including CBSA D-Memos, CSCB publications, and industry guidance, and recommend process, policy, and procedural changes to maintain compliance.
- Support trade compliance programs related to tariff classification, country of origin, valuation, master data management, consultant recommendations, and continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance compliance, accuracy, and operational efficiency.

Panasonic Canada Inc. is currently looking to hire for the position of Customs Compliance Analyst.
Supports management in ensuring ongoing compliance with CBSA Trusted Trader Program requirements (PIP/CSA), regulatory requirements related to forced labour, the Customs Act, and other applicable trade compliance regulations. Ensures that trade compliance activities across PCI business units are conducted in accordance with established policies, procedures, and government regulations. Prepares ad hoc reports, project plans, recommendations, and process improvement initiatives, and participates in projects as required.
This is a full-time position.
This position is hybrid. Any office-based work will be performed from our Mississauga office at Ambler Drive.

The annual salary range for this position is $60,000 -$75,000 CAD.
Actual compensation offered to the selected incumbent will vary depending on the individual’s knowledge, skills and experience related to the role.
