Job summary

Smith Steel & Fabrication is seeking a skilled Fabricator to join our Ontario-based team. The role focuses on interpreting schematics, fabricating metal parts, and welding to CWB standards within a safety-conscious environment.

The ideal candidate has 8–10 years of fabrication experience, MIG welding expertise, and the ability to read drawings. GMP knowledge and teamwork are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Completion of High School or equivalent.
• Metal Fabricator/Fitter 437A or equivalent.
• Previous 8-10 years of fabrication experience.
• MIG welding experience; CWB tickets considered a strong asset.
• Ability to read blueprints/drawings/sketches.
• Knowledge of GMP guidelines and practices.
• You work well in a team and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Layout (fitting) and preparation for fabrication.
• Use of brake, shear and saw.
• Use of iron worker for fabrication.
• Welding to CWB standards.
• Polishing/finishing welds.
• Assist with shop projects and maintenance.
• Fabrication of various jobs/projects.
• Read blueprints/drawings/sketches accurately.
• Ensure GMP guidelines and practices are followed.
• Collaborate with designers, engineers and product development.
• Complete daily paperwork accurately and on time.

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fabricator to join our dynamic team. The Fabricator is responsible for reading & understanding schematics and blueprints and fabricating metal parts and structures per the customer request. We are looking to add someone to our team who is eager to learn, detail-orientated and a team player. Our Fabricators promotes a positive company image through safety, quality, consistency, and professionalism.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Layout (fitting)
• Use of brake, shear and saw
• Use of iron worker
• Welding to CWB standards

• Assist with various shop projects, including shop maintenance
• Fabrication of various jobs/projects
• Able to read blueprints/drawing/sketches

• Conduct quality control checks
• Work closely with designers & engineers & product development
• Accurate and timely completion of all daily paperwork

Requirements

• Completion of High School or equivalent
• Metal Fabricator/Fitter 437A or equivalent
• Previous 8-10 years of fabrication experience
• MIG welding experience. CWB tickets considered a strong asset

Hourly Wage For The Role: $24.00 - $27.00
