What a Specialist Does

Specialists receive inbound calls and answer questions about 529 plans. If you're selected, we'll train you so you can answer with confidence. As a specialist you'll be making updates to accounts and writing letters to account owners, so you need to have basic computer skills and experience with programs such as Word and Excel.

You will also spend time entering data, including working with numbers, so you will need to have a keen eye for detail and accuracy. Because you'll be talking with account owners or others interested in our plan, you need to have excellent communication skills. As a member of our professional team, you will be joining a hard-working group that is serious about providing exceptional service to account owners.

Minimum Qualifications

Customer Service Representative, I: Requires little to no related experience.

Customer Service Representative, II: Requires at least 1 year of related experience.

Skills:
  • Proficient with computers (intermediate skills, including typing and data entry)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to complete all customer service needs in a timely manner.
Preferences
  • Prior experience working in a financial services, finance-related, or higher education setting.
  • Prior customer service experience working directly with customers or over the phone.
