JOB TITLE: Customer Service Representative – Bob Callahan Flower City Senior Centre, Susan Fennell Sportsplex, and Save Max Sports Centre

DEPARTMENT: Community Services

JOB STATUS & DURATION: Part-time, seasonal, and temporary

HOURS OF WORK: Variable hours; 24 hours a week

NUMBER OF POSITIONS: Several

LOCATION: Bob Callahan Flower City Senior Centre, Susan Fennell Sportsplex, and Save Max Sports Centre

HOURLY RATE: $20.21

POSTING DATE: May 14, 2025

CLOSING DATE: May 20, 2025

Area of Responsibility

Reports to the Recreation Supervisor/Supervisor on Duty, providing professional front-line customer service support, responding to facility inquiries, program information, and services to ensure a positive experience.

  • Provide high-level front-line customer service including greeting and engaging customers, providing program information and availability, with a focus on customer needs and upselling where possible
  • Answer telephone calls and respond professionally to customer concerns/inquiries
  • Process and accept payments for program registrations, facility bookings, memberships, and POS transactions
  • Handle feedback professionally while maintaining excellent customer service
  • Support the Facility Clerk as needed
  • Balance and verify daily revenue, complete administrative paperwork and reports
  • Perform administrative duties promptly (e.g., opening and closing procedures, count sheets, payroll)
  • Maintain a safe and tidy workspace
  • Report concerns, accidents, and incidents to the supervisor and take appropriate action
  • Complete administrative duties efficiently, including reports and documentation
  • Maintain understanding of department programs and services
  • Assist with concessions operations when required
  • Adhere to and enforce corporate policies, confidentiality guidelines, emergency procedures, and health and safety standards
  • Attend meetings and training as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Selection Criteria
  • Minimum 16 years of age
  • Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Current Standard First Aid / CPR C certification or ability to obtain within 1 month of hire
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills

Additional criteria for Peel Village Golf Course:

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Smart Serve certification or ability to obtain within 1 month of hire
  • Valid G2 Ontario driver’s license and ability to obtain a City of Brampton Off-Road Vehicle Operator’s Permit is an asset

Preference given to residents of Brampton.

Various tests/exams may be part of the selection process.
