Job description

Our Client, a Customs Brokerage Services company, is looking for a Customer Service Representative for their Eastern Passage, NS location.

Responsibilities:
  • Reporting to the Manager, this position handles incoming calls, faxes, and email quote requests/orders, ensuring timely responses and efforts to secure additional business.
  • Be prepared for incoming calls throughout the shift, excluding breaks and lunch.
  • Provide accurate pricing to dealers, movers, and private customers as required.
  • Answer all customer inquiries related to client Vehicle Transport services, transit times, and service parameters.
  • Handle customer track and trace inquiries, providing accurate and timely information.
  • Assist the Claim Department in offering solutions regarding claims issues.
  • Achieve daily performance standards, such as number of calls answered and quote closing ratio.
  • Make outbound calls to inform customers of service or rail delays proactively.
  • Accurately process and input orders into the system.
  • Identify potential sales leads, work with Sales to qualify them, and maximize order retention.
  • Adhere to LII Business Code of Ethics, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Experience in the transportation industry is preferred but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word & Excel).
  • Keyboard typing speed of 45-60 wpm.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team within a call center environment.
  • Bilingual in French and English is desirable.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Strong customer service focus and adaptability to diverse scenarios.
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle large amounts of information accurately.
  • Use of equipment: PC, fax, printer, telephone, credit-card machine.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
