  • Prepare registers for opening/closing and manage floats and till accuracy.
  • Promote Walmart programs and discount initiatives to customers and associates.
  • Be available for evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Job description

Working as a Customer Service Manager at Walmart Canada is a great opportunity to build strong leadership and operational skills in a fast-paced retail environment. In this role, you lead front-end operations to deliver exceptional customer service, support a positive shopping experience, and drive customer loyalty. The Customer Service Manager also plays a key role in ensuring compliance with company programs and operational standards, helping the store run efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure safe work practices and emergency procedures are followed at all times, including proper lifting techniques, maintaining clean work areas, managing till malfunctions, handling emergency codes, and supporting theft prevention and evacuation procedures.
  • Handle customer and associate concerns professionally, providing direction, advice, and support to resolve issues and ensure a positive experience at the checkout area.
  • Supervise checkout area operations to maintain adequate associate coverage, coordinate breaks, and support peripheral cash stations to ensure efficient customer flow.
  • Train associates on company systems and procedures including scan accuracy, productivity standards, company programs and initiatives, discount programs, Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) processes, and security requirements.
  • Oversee purchases, returns, and exchanges; provide necessary authorizations, assist with error corrections, and verify processes are compliant with company guidelines.
  • Ensure proper functioning of EAS systems by verifying cashiers are demagnetizing items correctly, that greeters manage alarms appropriately, and that demagnetization defect logs are completed accurately.
  • Prepare registers for daily opening and closing, assist cashiers in obtaining required floats, maintain all appropriate cash and float amounts in the checkout area, and verify till accuracy through audits.
  • Promote company programs and initiatives including credit card services, Walmart Protection Plans, charitable projects, and associate and customer discount programs.
  • Be available to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, and lift merchandise or supplies weighing up to 9 kg (20 lb) regularly and occasionally up to 23 kg (50 lb).
  • Perform repetitive tasks such as restocking, zoning, and product organization with attention to detail.
