Job summary

Jazz Aviation LP is hiring a Cargo Agent to support Air Canada cargo logistics and customer service. You will be trained in Transport Canada rules, Cargo System WebLynx, and airside operations, including forklift licensing.

Join Jazz’s award-winning team in Victoria to handle shipments, transport cargo to aircraft, and resolve lost or damaged baggage. Training and safety come first, with opportunities to advance within a busy regional operation.

Qualifications

  • High school graduates who are bondable and possess a valid driver''s license without restriction.
  • Must complete the Lynx initial training course for Cargo Agent per company standards.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work with little supervision.
  • Computer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Operate ground vehicles as required.
  • Process shipment of all freight and COMAT.
  • Transport Cargo to and from the aircraft.
  • Initiate claims for missing or damaged cargo.
  • Handle base supplies and manage stock.
  • Process delayed, lost, and damaged luggage.
  • Follow policies prioritizing safety of staff and customers.
  • Take on additional related duties as assigned.
  • Depending on base, handle missing or damaged baggage claims.

Jazz is hiring a Cargo Agent. Join our award-winning team and help shape the future of regional aviation!

The opportunity

As a member of the Jazz Cargo Team, your role will be to assist our Air Canada customers in the logistics of shipping their packages. Our Cargo Agents will be trained in the Transport Canada rules and regulations of shipping as well as the Air Canada web-based Cargo System, WebLynx. While technical training will be delivered to you, excellent customer service is also expected. Additional training will be completed for safe airside ramp driving and operations and forklift licensing.

Key responsibilities
  • Operate ground vehicles as required;
  • Process the shipment of all freight and COMAT;
  • Transport Cargo to and from the aircraft;
  • Initiate claims resulting from missing and damaged cargo;
  • Handle base supplies;
  • Process delayed, lost and damaged luggage;
  • Perform duties in accordance with established policies and procedures, while giving primary consideration to personal safety, and the safety of co-workers and customers;
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned;
  • Depending on the base, other duties may include:
    • Handle missing baggage and damaged baggage claims.
Required Qualifications
  • Candidates will be high school graduates who are bondable and possess a valid driver\'s license without restriction;
  • Must successfully complete the Lynx initial training course for Cargo Agent in accordance with Company standards;
  • Candidates should possess strong organizational skills and the ability to work with little or no supervision;
  • Computer experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preference will be given to applicants with previous ramp experience;
  • Demonstrated ability to operate ground vehicle equipment;
  • Customer Service experience;
  • Knowledge of Dangerous Goods regulations.
