Job summary

Jazz Aviation LP in Calgary, Alberta, invites Apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Engineers to join a premier team focused on safety, precision and regulatory compliance. Based at our Calgary base, you will work under supervision to learn maintenance procedures on various aircraft and contribute to keeping our fleet airworthy.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Transport Canada-approved AME program (Category M).
• Transport Canada accreditation is required for employment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a RAIC (Restricted Area Identification Card).
• Valid Canadian driver’s license with no restrictions or conditions.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an AVOP.

Responsibilities

• Carry out repairs and overhaul to shop components in accordance with company procedures and all regulatory requirements.
• Carry out repairs to aircraft components.
• Develop an understanding of aircraft defect troubleshooting and corrective actions.
• Maintain aircraft in an airworthy condition by performing maintenance tasks per data and procedures.
• Identify and report defects affecting serviceability or operation.
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with TC regulations and company policies.

Key responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Crew Chief or a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer:
  • Carry out repairs and overhaul to shop components in accordance with company procedure and all regulatory requirements;
  • Carry out repairs to aircraft components;
• Develop an understanding of aircraft defect troubleshooting and the methods used to carry out corrective action;
• Maintain Company aircraft in an airworthy condition by carrying out assigned maintenance tasks using approved maintenance data and procedures;
• Identify and report defects or other issues that may affect the serviceability or operational status of aircraft;
• Become familiar with Transport Canada Company manuals and documents;
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with Company policies, standard practices, and applicable Transport Canada regulations;
• Maintain the work area in a neat and tidy condition;
• Perform duties in accordance with our established policies and procedures while giving primary consideration to personal safety, the safety of co-workers and customers;
• Perform other related duties, as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• All credentials listed below must be obtained and maintained as a condition of employment:
  • Graduate of an accredited Transport Canada-approved Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) program, Category M;
  • Transport Canada accreditation;
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC);
  • Valid Canadian-issued driver’s license with no restrictions or conditions;
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Airport Vehicle Operator’s Permit (AVOP);
• Willing and able to work varying shifts;
• English language fluency or working knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications

• Holds a current Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) License;
• Working towards obtaining a Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) License;
• Experience in carrying out repairs on DASH-8 and/or CRJ aircraft components.
