Job summary

Dollar Tree in Calgary is seeking a Customer Service Associate to join our team and deliver a great shopping experience for every customer. You will assist customers with questions and recommendations, and manage transactions at the register.

You will help unload trucks, stock shelves, keep the store clean, and maintain safety and a friendly environment for customers and team members. Part-time hours available with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous customer service experience in retail, hospitality, grocery, or similar spaces preferred.
• Ability to read and follow operational instructions.
• Must be able to lift 30–50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent organization and communication abilities.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions at the cash register.
• Maintain cash security and protect assets.
• Stock replenishment and merchandise recovery.
• Unload shipments and stock shelves per standards.

Job description

We’re seeking a Customer Service Associate to join our team and deliver a great shopping experience for every customer. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations


• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register


• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets


• Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise


• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment in accordance with productivity standards


• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while maintaining professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders


• Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness throughout the store, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out the trash, and ensuring all areas are neat and presentable


• Other duties as assigned*

Skills and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred


• Previous customer service experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment is highly preferred


• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required


• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting


• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required


• Strong organizational and communication skills are required


• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required
