Kam Wai Dim Sum in Vancouver, BC is hiring a Customer Service Representative to serve a diverse community at our Chinatown locations. You will process payments at the POS, handle openings/closes, prep hot dim sum, and assist with inventory while delivering friendly, respectful service.

The role requires English; Cantonese and Mandarin are assets. Both full-time and part-time shifts available, with occasional shifts at the other location.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in food service or retail is an asset.
• Strong teamwork skills and willingness to help others.
• Punctual and reliable.
• Ability to read Chinese is an asset.
• Spoken English is required; Cantonese and Mandarin are assets.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Flexible scheduling for evenings and weekends.

Customer Service Representative

Job Overview

Our team is looking for a Customer Service Representative to help serve a well-loved retail and hot food counter. This position requires individuals who are able to work with a diverse community of customers with respect and compassion. Successful candidates will have an enthusiastic outlook and willingness to learn about Hong Kong and Taiwanese cuisine and Cantonese language and culture.

Position is for either of our locations, but you may be asked to work an occasional shift at our other location as well.

Base pay is $18.25/hr, with an average of $3.00/hr in tips for a total of $21.25/hr on average.

Duties

• Process customer payments on POS
• Perform store opening/closing procedures
• Retrieve hot food from dim sum steamer
• Participate in inventory management by helping to track supplies and report shortages as needed.
• Handle cash and card transactions
• Maintain cleanliness and order in the store
• Respond to customer questions regarding products

Qualifications

• Prior experience in food service or retail is an asset
• Strong teamwork skills with a willingness to help others as needed.

• Ability to read Chinese is an asset
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations is a plus.
