Job summary

Maple Leaf Foods Inc. is seeking a Customer Sales Analyst to support the Sales team by delivering timely sales data, insights, and recommendations to enhance business development with customers.

You will liaise between the customer and internal teams and lead parts of key projects as they arise. Responsibilities include forecasting accuracy, leading customer meetings, providing analysis to guide pricing, promotions, and product launches, and improving internal processes to better serve

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in business required.
• 2-3 years’ work experience in a sales or marketing function.
• Experience handling key accounts is an asset.
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office; experience with Cognos and BPCS is a plus.

• Ensure flawless execution of forecasting, feature planning and order fulfillment, liaising with internal departments to meet/exceed customer expectations.
• Attend and eventually lead key customer meetings - business reviews, planning meetings, new product presentations, etc.
• Provide back-up support to Customer Business Development Managers (vacation coverage, etc.).
• Complete analysis, gain key insights and make recommendations on KPIs/trends and opportunities such as sales volume, trade spending, shopper programs, pricing.
• Develop customer presentations & communications (product launches, business plans, promotions).
• Communicate customer requirements across internal functions and improve processes.

Reason for vacancy: Existing Headcount

Compensation: $59,000 – $87,000 CAD base pay annually plus annual short-term incentive

The above compensation reflects the target compensation for the position at the time of posting. The base salary offered may vary based on a variety of factors including skills, experience, education, training, job- related knowledge, and other organizational requirements. For part-time roles, salaries are adjusted according to scheduled hours. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible to participate in Maple Leaf’s annual short-term incentive plan.

Snapshot Of a Day-in-the-Life

• Ensure flawless execution of forecasting, feature planning and order fulfillment, liaising with internal departments to ensure customer expectations are met / exceeded
• Attend and eventually lead key customer meetings -business reviews, planning meetings, new product presentations, etc.- with Customer Business Development Managers
• Provide back‑up support to Customer Business Development Managers (i.e. vacation coverage etc.)
• Complete analysis, gain key insights and make recommendations on key performance indicators/trends and future opportunities such as sales volume, trade spending, KAAP, shopper marketing programs, new product launches, pricing, credit note spending etc.
• Develop customer presentations & communications (i.e. product launches, customer business plan/reviews, promotions, merchandising, pricing, etc.)
• Effectively communicate customer requirements across all internal functions
• Ensure systems / processes are effectively managed and improved
• Recognize and make recommendations on cost reduction opportunities
• Assist customer team with information requests, key insights, recommendations and processes (support external processes / lead and support internal processes)
• Develop a deep understanding of the customer to provide value-added services to the customer team and customer(s)
• Support internal business functions with information and insights
• Improve internal process to support effectiveness, efficiency and external focus

What You’ll Bring

• Post-secondary education required - business focus preferred
• 2-3 years’ work experience in a sales or marketing function
• Previous experience handling key accounts considered an asset
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office) and good systems knowledge (Cognos, BPCS)
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to gain and communicate key insights
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced, demanding work environment
• Highly organized, fact-based and detail oriented
• Able to anticipate internal/external customers’ needs and proactively seek to satisfy those needs
