Job summary

Canada Life is seeking a permanent, full-time Business Solutions Developer to design, build, implement, and support custom technology solutions for Sponsor Services. You’ll work with stakeholders to analyze needs, create scalable web apps, automation, and integrations that streamline workflows and improve access to information for clients and partners.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years' experience building and supporting business applications and tech solutions.
• Strong PHP and Python skills with web app and form development experience.
• Experience designing system integrations across web apps, platforms, and legacy systems.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, XML, data mapping and SOA principles.
• Advanced Excel and Access skills with VBA, macros, Power Query and reporting.
• SQL and relational databases experience essential.
• Experience with Power Apps and Power Automate; Git proficiency.
• Excellent communication and multi-priority management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver custom business apps, automation and system integrations to improve efficiency and user experience.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Design, build, and support scalable data access, workflows, and reporting.
• Develop web-based apps, forms, and digital tools for internal/external partners.
• Enable integrations between enterprise platforms and legacy systems via APIs and services.
• Support automation of manual processes using low-code and custom development platforms.
• Ensure reliability, security, and governance alignment of solutions.
• Participate in all solution lifecycle phases from analysis to deployment and support.
• Monitor and enhance existing apps and processes for performance and continuity.
• Identify opportunities for innovation and tech-enabled transformation across Sponsor Services.
• Collaborate with technology teams, partners, and vendors to deliver high‑quality solutions.
• Maintain technical documentation and support materials for long-term sustainability.
