Job summary

St Barbara Limited, located in Middle Musquodoboit, Nova Scotia, is seeking a full-time Custodian Services Technician to support its Atlantic Operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring cleanliness and safety at the Touquoy mine site, with tasks including garbage collection, washroom maintenance, and adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Ensure own health and safety and that of all workers.
• Empty garbage bins regularly.
• Maintain cleanliness of washrooms and supplies.
• Adhere to cleaning schedules provided by management.
• Ensure proper placement of wet floor signs after mopping.
• Execute cleaning tasks timely and orderly.
• Work as part of a team for cleaning duties.
• Report repairs to site services technicians.
• Report health and safety hazards to officers.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies.

Job description

Atlantic Operations is a wholly owned subsidiary of St Barbara Limited, an ASX listed gold producer and explorer with mining assets in Canada and Australia. We are currently seeking a Custodian Services Technician to support our Atlantic Operations. This role is a full time, max-term position, reporting to the Site Project Superintendent and will be based at our Touquoy mine site located approximately 1-hour northeast of Halifax, near Middle Musquodoboit, Nova Scotia.

The Opportunity

• Ensuring own Health & Safety as well as that of all other workers, identifying and maintaining safe work practices and completing all required safety training.
• Emptying garbage bins on a regular basis
• Ensuring washrooms are clean and well stocked with necessary supplies
• Adhering to cleaning schedules set forth by management
• Ensuring wet floor signs are put in the proper place after mopping the floor
• Ensuring that cleaning tasks are executed in a timely and orderly manner
• Working as part of a team to execute cleaning duties
• Reporting any repairs to site services technicians so they can make the necessary repairs
• Reporting any health and safety hazards or violations to health and safety officers
• Maintaining a proper inventory of cleaning supplies and materials needed

• Unencumbered Class 5 driver's license
