Qualifications

Responsibilities

NATUREAND SCOPE

Reporting tothe Operations Director, the Custodian is responsible for ensuring that thefacilities and common areas of the center are maintained in a clean, safe, andsanitary manner. This includes performing a wide range of custodial duties suchas cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, restocking supplies, managing waste, andmaintaining floors. The Custodian also monitors and reports any maintenance orrepair needs, collaborates with other staff to support a healthy environment,and adheres to all safety and health regulations. This role is essential inproviding a welcoming and hygienic space for clients and staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Cleans Common Areas

• Vacuums Carpets: Thoroughly vacuums allcarpeted surfaces to maintain cleanliness and remove dust and debris.
• Dusting: Dusts all fixtures andfurniture, ensuring surfaces are free of dust and dirt.
• Entrance Maintenance: Keeps the front entranceimmaculate, including cleaning the floors, doors, glass, and handles.
• Garbage Disposal: Regularly empties anddisposes of sanitation and garbage receptacles to maintain hygiene.
• Wall and Window Cleaning: Washes walls and windowsas needed to remove smudges and dirt.
• Office Cleaning: Cleans all offices,including desktops and floors, ensuring a tidy and sanitary environment.
• Sanitizes Handles: Regularly sanitizes alldoor handles to prevent the spread of germs.
• Floor Maintenance: Sweeps and mops requiredfloor areas to keep them clean and safe.
• Minor Repairs: Performs minor maintenancerepairs or reports issues for further action.
• Restroom Cleaning: Cleans and disinfectsrestrooms, including toilets, showers, and stalls, to maintain sanitaryconditions.
• Surface Sanitization: Sanitizes common surfaceareas and door handles regularly.
• Supply Replenishment: Replenishes supplies, suchas soap, paper towels, and toilet paper, as needed.

Washrooms

• Surface and FixtureSanitization: Sanitizes all surfaces and fixtures in washrooms, including sinks,mirrors, and counters.
• Restroom Cleaning: Cleans and disinfectstoilets, showers, and stalls to ensure they are hygienic.
• Floor Cleaning: Sweeps and mops washroomfloors to keep them clean and safe.
• Handle and Wall Sanitization: Sanitizes door handles andwashes walls to prevent the spread of germs.
• Supply Replenishment: Continuously replenishes washroom suppliesto ensure they are always available.

Laundry

• Linen Collection: Collects all linens thatneed to be washed, ensuring they are gathered efficiently.
• Laundry Preparation: Prepares linens forwashing, folding, and distribution to ensure they are ready for use.
