Halifax Regional Centre for Education is seeking a Custodian to maintain a clean and sanitary appearance of school facilities. The role involves cleaning and maintenance duties carried out professionally, efficiently, and safely within department policies.
The position reports to the Caretaker and Building Management Supervisor, and falls under the NSUPE collective agreement. Applicants should be able to lift 50lbs and work various shifts, including day, evening, and nights.
The Custodian contributes to the effective operation of the Operations Services Department within the Halifax Regional Centre for Education. The custodian maintains a clean, sanitary and attractive appearance of school buildings and facilities. This is accomplished by performing cleaning and maintenance duties in a professional, efficient, proactive and safe manner within the policies and procedures of the Department and the Centre. This position reports to the Caretaker and also takes direction from the Building Management Supervisor.

For positions less than 100%: Subject to operational requirements, the Halifax Regional Centre for Education may, at its discretion choose to alter the posted hours of work for the position to accommodate an applicant's request to hold two or more part-time positions at the same time.
