The Halifax Regional Centre for Education (HRCE) is seeking a Custodian to maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of school facilities. The role supports the Operations Services Department by performing cleaning and maintenance duties in a proactive and safe manner.
The successful candidate reports to the Caretaker and Building Management Supervisor, with work governed by the NSUPE collective agreement. Applicants should be prepared for various shifts and understand HRCE’s commitment to inclusive
The Custodian contributes to the effective operation of the Operations Services Department within the Halifax Regional Centre for Education. The custodian maintains a clean, sanitary and attractive appearance of school buildings and facilities. This is accomplished by performing cleaning and maintenance duties in a professional, efficient, proactive and safe manner within the policies and procedures of the Department and the Centre. This position reports to the Caretaker and also takes direction from the Building Management Supervisor.

For positions less than 100%: Subject to operational requirements, the Halifax Regional Centre for Education may, at its discretion choose to alter the posted hours of work for the position to accommodate an applicant's request to hold two or more part-time positions at the same time.
