Job summary

Prairie Land Public School Division is seeking a responsible custodian to start immediately at J.C. Charyk Hanna School. This full-time temporary role involves cleaning and sanitizing facilities in accordance with Alberta Health Services.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, able to work independently, and prepared for long periods of standing and walking. Training will be provided, and PPE supplied; compensation will reflect experience.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform routine physical tasks while standing and walking for long periods.
• Preference given to applicants with knowledge of standard cleaning practices and procedures.
• Must follow Alberta Health Services guidelines.

This position is currently available internally to CUPE employees for 5 working days until 4:30 p.m. November 26th, 2025 as per the CUPE Local 5829 Collective Agreement.

We are searching for a responsible custodian to start immediately at J.C. Charyk Hanna School. Our ideal candidate will be self-motivated and able to perform tasks independently. You will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the school strictly adhering to Alberta Health Services guidelines. You must be able to perform routine physical tasks while standing and walking for long periods. Physical strength and stamina are an asset. Preference will be given to an applicant with knowledge of standard cleaning practices and procedures.

This is a full time temporary position working a total of 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week. A split shift may be available with the right candidate.
