Job summary

University of Ottawa seeks Teaching Assistant/Demonstrator/Tutor for Elementary Spanish I (ESP1991) at the Main Campus. Four positions available for the Fall 2026 semester, supporting course delivery and student engagement.

Candidates should be proficient in Brightspace, bilingual in French and English, and experienced with Spanish pedagogy. Assignment runs Sept to Dec 2026 with compensation per CUPE terms.

Qualifications

• Expert in Brightspace and virtual learning environments.
• Bilingual (French-English) with strong communication skills.
• Experience teaching Spanish at introductory level.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of course materials and activities.
• Grade and provide feedback on student work.
• Proctor exams and supervise classroom activities.
• Participate in training and course delivery support.
• Support students and coordinate with the instructor.

Work Schedule and Compensation

• Work Start Date: septembre 07, 2026

• Total Work Hours: 65
• Hourly Rate: AE-RA-Tutor / TA-RA-Tutor : $31.89 ou/or $50.25 (2024-2025)

Undergraduate students will be paid at the lower rate; while graduate students will be paid at the higher rate.

These rates do not included vacation pay nor statutory pay. These rates will be applied until a new collective agreement is ratified. Retro will be paid after the ratification.

Requirements and Nature of Work

Expert dans le système Brightspace. Les candidats doivent maitriser l'apprentissage/enseignement virtuel, le Campus virtuel et les outils pédagogiques virtuels. Bilingue (Frçais-Anglais). Expérience dans l'enseignement de l'espagnol./ Expert in Brightspace. Candidate must master e-learning/teaching, Virtual Campus and pedagogical e-tools. Bilingual (French-English). Experience in the teaching of Spanish.
